It's flattering that you added me to your friend's list and that you apparently think I am a good fanfic writer, but I have rather disappointing news. I am no longer writing fanfiction, but more concentrating on original fiction that I could maybe possibly publish one day. Feel free to stay on my F-list, but I will not friend you back and you will not see any fanfiction in my journal.

Original stories: brief outline of ideas

This entry will give a brief overview of the idea behind my original stories. I do hope that everyone who will read it respects these ideas and will not try to steal them for their own stories.

Inspector Eraya
Inspector Ceron Eraya is an Elven detective working for Aptaque CID (Crime Investigation Department). Together with his human partner, Darrel Lynt, he solves the mysterious crimes that take place in this large city.

'Inspector Eraya' is a cross between high fantasy and detective, set in modern times. It will be a series with wizards, dwarven pathologists, mysterious creatures and even more mysterious murders.

Available characters: Ceron Eraya, Darrel Lynt, Tiernielle Okala.

Loaghaire
Loaghaire is a modern fantasy story about an Order located in Scotland, where people live who fight against the forces of evil. They slay the vampires, hunt the demons and keep the Earth safe.

The story is about Laurian, the young leader of this Order, and her adventures. It's about friendship and loyalty, pain and guilt, and also hidden enemies who above all else desire the destruction of this Order.

More information about Loaghaire can be found at lenihan_fics, although I am very careful about who I'll add to the friends' list there.

Available characters: Laurian Trellan, Moira Kinsley, Alain McLachlan, Bardos McColl, Ellen McGaffen, Christel McGaffen, Donald McGaffen.

Mercenaries
Mercenaries was my 2007 NaNoWriMo project with great potential, but currently put to a stop. It's about three women who travel around the world and work as mercenaries. The three main characters are Marina, Tara and Nashira. The story itself is a bit fantasy and modern world. Some chapters have been uploaded in this journal, though they can be only read if you are on my friends' list.

Available characters: Nashira Amir, Tara Exford, Marina Sirtis.

Ralph's story
Ralph's story is about a woman (Ralph) who is on the run from the army. It takes place mostly in America. Ralph is also a crossdresser and bisexual, though she usually has girlfriends because of her boyish looks. She'll eventually save Liz from her father, who then becomes her real (permanent) girlfriend.

The idea is that it'll go in two parts, and although the first part doesn't give away many hints, certain higher officers of the army are actually working for aliens. One of these people is her ex-fiance Mike.

Available characters: Ralph Ashton, Liz Riley, Terence Riley.

Touzainanboku
Touzainanboku (North, East, South, West) was my 2008 NaNo project. It was about four countries, four gods and an evil coming from outside. Unfortunately, this project got stranded and I'm not quite sure if I'll ever pick it up again.

Last War of Heaven
Also a 2008 NaNo project, though this time more SF than Fantasy. Not that there are flying cars or spaceships, but it's about the hypothetical question of what would happen if people no longer saw a need in believing in God. A God is created through belief and will stay alive for as long as it has followers. But if no one believes in a God anymore, the God will fade away from existence.

In this case, God (from Christianity) had become redundant and left Heaven one day. But the angels were not dependent on human worshippers and remained behind. Soon everything fell apart and a war in Heaven ensued while Earth became a kind of Heaven.

It is up to one angel to restore the faith among humans and hope for the return of God and the end of the last war of Heaven.

For all those people drawn in the mass hysteria and planning to leave

Yes, I've read it all. And to be honest, it bores me to death. But for those of you who all flap your arms in panic that you might get banned and consider moving to other journals, I'm afraid I have some bad news for you.

I checked the TOS of LiveJournal and yes, they do have the right to terminate your account without any prior notice. (My god, that huge piece of text was boring.) Yes, if you want to publish anything involving minors (under 18 years old) in a situation that might harm them or includes sex, you can be hold responsible, it can be removed or it can lead to termination of your account. You post at your own risk.

Now it's too late to check the TOS of ALL servers that offer a blog, but I know that www.greatestjournal.com has almost exactly the same TOS as LiveJournal. They are exactly the same when it comes down to terminating an account and what can be considered harmful, illegal or offensive works.

And I think that just about every server will have the same TOS. I mean, I live in a sexually free country. Sex is not a taboo here. Being gay is accepted here. Holland was one of the first countries where gay couples could get married. But even here, there are limits to pornographic contents, whether it's for real or for fandom. (Yes, I looked it up in that thick book containing laws. Gave me a headache, because it's difficult to find things in it. X_x)

So yes, you can decide to move and another blog server might seem a hell lot better, but you know why? Because you don't know anything about the problems that server might cause you, while you've had to face a few things LJ has the right to do and you didn't like it. My advice would be that if you seriously plan to move, read the TOS very carefully and even compare it with LJ.

Oh, and about that "Report abuse" button? Never noticed it hanging under each and every submitted artwork on DevArt? Besides, anyone COULD already report anything you posted to the administrators already. I guess all they want to do is make things easier. If it really bothers you, make sure you let them know that they should include the same menu DevArt has, and that the person reporting an entry as "abuse" should give a reason why they think it's against the TOS.

That being said, it's a true shame that my f-list contains only 13 people, of which half of them are hardly active (if active at all). No comments, because I need to get rid of this annoyance that has been building up steadily ever since the first mass hysteria flooded over LJ, and if I don't do this I might suddenly lash out at someone and regret it later. Comments posted on other entries dealing with content written here will be deleted without any warning or me looking at it.

There. I feel better. Good enough at least to focus on things that are really important to me, like writing RP entries and stories.

Although I'm not really a fanfic-author anymore, I still have some fanfictions in my journal and on DevArt and I'll probably still continue writing them, every now and then. And I do believe I follow up those nine acknowledgements, which is why I put them in my journal as well. ^^

The Fan/Fandom Creed.

I. I acknowledge that fandom can, has, and will exist without me. I am not important. What I can do, someone else could easily take over. Even if the fandom is tiny, there are probably many more fans of whom I simply have not heard that write/draw/dream things that could blow my mind. Fandom would not fall apart without me.

II. I acknowledge that no matter what I've contributed to it, the fandom owes me absolutely nothing. I will not look for fame, nor will I expect a certain type of treatment from anyone else in the fandom. If people respect me, let them; if people dislike me, let them. I certainly will not threaten to leave and expect anyone to care.

III. I acknowledge that no matter what sort of "credentials" I have in the real world, in fandom, I am merely just another "fan." I might be a published author, a famous artist, or hell, Brad Pitt, but in fandom, if I am not the creator of the canon material, I am merely a follower and I will remember that.

IV. I acknowledge that fandom is a thing created and kept alive by more than one person. People will disagree with me; I will disagree with people. Although I reserve the right to leave the premises or disagree/rant/make snide comments in relative private, I will never flame someone publically or personally for their opinions. If there is discussion in public, it will be civil and I will keep the peace.

V. I acknowledge that there will always be parts of fandom that I dislike; I also acknowledge that there will always be parts of fandom that dislike me; these parts, I will ignore. There will always be people who will never see things my way, no matter what anyone says or does, and there will always be people who keep producing works with which I completely disagree. Again, although I reserve the right to leave the premises or disagree/rant/make snide comments in relative private, I will make no move to actually stop them. They have the right to imagine their versions of characters, just as I have the right to imagine mine.

VI. I acknowledge that, just as fandom owes me nothing, neither do other fans. It doesn't matter who I am; just because I created a community or many people agree with my portrayal of Character A does not give me rights to anything in the fandom. If I receive praise, I will always remember that it is given freely, not due; if I receive criticism, I will take it and remember that criticism, too, is freely given. Regardless of which it is, I will always feel thankful for the time.

VII. I acknowledge that fandom is fandom and how certain people act/how certain people's tastes run in fandom has no relation to them in real life. Although I reserve the right to like or dislike someone based on their OOC/non-fandom-related comments, I will neither judge nor form opinions about someone as a person purely through fandom. Just as slash writers are not always gay and RPers are not always self-inserts, I acknowledge that the fandom-image I know and the real life-person that I do not may be completely different people.

VIII. I acknowledge that there will be other fans that I dislike personally; I also acknowledge that there will be other fans that dislike me personally; these fans, I will ignore. Again, although I reserve the right to leave the premises or disagree/rant/make snide comments in relative private, I will make no move to actually confront them if they have done no wrong. Being a jerk may have them kicked out of communities and forums, but I will always remember that they have as much right to be in the actual fandom as I do. And I will always remember that I do have that right.

IX. I acknowledge that just as I am in fandom to have fun, other people are in fandom for the exact same reason, and I will remember that. I will never do anything to actively try to stop other people's fun, regardless of how much I may disagree with what they are doing. Clause reserving the right to leave the premises or disagree/rant/make snide comments in relative private still holds here, but I will never tell another fan to stop having fun in whatever way they want to have fun. And I will never pay any attention when someone tells me to stop having fun myself.

X. I acknowledge that just as everyone else is a person, that I am a person, too. No matter what other fans may think of me from what they have seen in fandom, I will never let that persona/image/reputation get in the way of being myself if/when I should communicate with them outside of fandom. If they respect me, I will thank them, and if they dislike me, I will accept it, but these things I will strictly keep in fandom only and will not allow them to interfere with my friendships or real life.

XI. I acknowledge that there are people uninterested in my fandom and I will not press my fandom upon them. I will not speak of certain fandoms to those that have no interest in them, nor will I pressure anyone to look at/read/otherwise be forced to come up with reactions to things that they couldn't care less about. I know that fandoms are very specific things, that being pressured into looking at them is highly uncomfortable, and I will not impose that way upon others.

XII. I acknowledge that, in the end, real life is real life and fandom is only fandom. If fandom begins to affects my real life in negative ways, I will remember that I have the option to simply leave and if it gets bad enough, I will. If I am truly unhappy with a certain fandom or the way a certain fandom is going, I will remember that I have the option of simply creating another community for people who share the same interests as me, or the option of just staying and refusing to go with the flow. I will remember that fandom is a simple trade of time with fun, and that if the fun is not worth the cost, I will remember that I am merely wasting time. Above all else, I will remember that remaining in fandom is an entirely voluntary action.
